ProperMaid are delighted to have won the SME category for this years awards, which were announced and presented at a glittering black tie and ball gown event held at Huddersfield’s John Smith’s Stadium on Thursday 13 November 2014.
Celebrating the best and brightest of Huddersfield’s businesses and the people who make them so successful category nominees were joined by the award judges and leading figures from the local business community for a spectacular evening hosted by BBC Look North’s Harry Gration.
Commenting on yet another accolade, ProperMaid owner Allison Whitmarsh said “We are so proud to have made the final in this category, and to have been flying the flag for Huddersfield as the place to make it ever since we scooped the Examiner’s “New Business of the Year Award” back in 2008.”
ProperMaid’s continued expansion and growth plans have been boosted by the acquisition of a second site in Huddersfield focussed on storage and distribution. The new site, which has created another 5 jobs for local people, accommodates up to 48 pallets of product with a 48 sq.m walk in freezer unit.
The unit, which is already fully operational, delivers the business goods inwards/outwards functions, which has enabled significant improvements to production workflows at its main Lindley site. The creation of dedicated mixing, baking, cooling and finishing sections has increased capacity by 30% as more new high volume contracts are due to come online. The additional space has also enabled the creation of better administration, staff facilities and changing areas.
