The Prince of Wales rescues homeless elephant, JPM Eco Logistics deliver it to him
Added: 31st July 2008
When a home was needed for a 12ft tall Asian elephant an urgent appeal was issued, with a fairy-tale ending. The elephant, weighing half a tonne, had been leading a 13-strong herd around Ireland and the UK in a conservation campaign. Renowned conservationist, The Prince of Wales, heroically came to the rescue and the tusker is now happily residing under a spectacular plane tree in Clarence House gardens.
The Survival Tour (www.thesurvivaltour.org) is raising awareness about real elephants made homeless by the destruction of their habitat. The campaign is spearheaded by London-based charity, elephant family, in partnership with The Royal Parks Foundation and The World Land Trust. The remaining 12 elephants of The Survival Tour are on display in Selfridges for the month of August.
The UK's greenest haulage company, JPM Eco Logistics (www.jpmecologistics.co.uk ) is a joint investment between Deborah Meaden and Theo Paphitis. JPM's entire fleet is run on locally sourced, sustainable bio-fuel. JPM vehicles are transporting the herd throughout the tour, delivering the elephants safely to numerous locations in the South-East of England and Ireland.
'ben the bin' launches in UK
Added: 24th July 2008
First seen as a prototype on Dragons' Den last year, 'ben the bin' has just launched in the UK and is now available as a single bin for £6.95, or in packs of three from www.benthebin.com
Delighted owners of 'ben' are now using the stylish 100% recycled plastic bin to help sort and recycle their household rubbish, all the while making use of that ever present stash of plastic (or biodegradable) bags we all seem to have lurking around the house. Max McMurdo, designer of ben and owner of parent company Reestore will be exhibiting at Autumn Fair at the NEC in September when buyers will be able to place orders for this unique and in demand product.
