The Merchant Fox logo The Merchant Fox, a Celebration Of British Tradition, Design and Manufacture.

Deborah acquired the historic West Country textile mill, Fox Brothers Ltd. with fellow shareholder Douglas Cordeaux in 2009. Deborah and Douglas are passionate about the heritage behind Fox Brothers and its traditional manufacturing methods. This passion has been the driving force behind their latest project, The Merchant Fox.

The Merchant Fox Home Britain has a rich history of producing and manufacturing some of the finest materials and products in the world. An array of gorgeous products continues to be made here using traditional techniques and skills, often combined with modern design to make genuinely extraordinary items.

The Merchant Fox brings together for the first time, a The Merchant Fox work collection of the finest luxury goods being manufactured in Great Britain today - hand-cut, hand-stitched bags made from British leather dyed using the bark of an oak tree; beautifully cut dressing gowns made from a soft ‘West of England’ flannel made by Fox Brothers.

Some of the items are made in workshops, some The Merchant Fox Accessorieswill be created to order by lone craftsmen working in small studios tucked away in corners of the British Isles, others are made in factories and mills, but the common theme of all that you see on The Merchant Fox is that each item has provenance, made in this country by genuine craftsmen and craftswomen.

The Merchant Fox is based in what used to be ‘The Counting House’ for Fox Brothers. Founded in 1772, Fox Brothers has produced luxury woollen and worsted cloth in Wellington, Somerset for nearly two hundred and fifty years. The heritage and illustrious history of Fox explains why its iconic cloths are used by many of the industry's most discerning and demanding clients, including London's historic Savile Row tailors and top fashion houses. A number of the items for sale on The Merchant Fox combine the beauty of Fox’s cloths with the equally exquisite goods being made in Britain today.
