Mixalbum.com is a music download website with a difference – it’s powered by the world’s first automated DJ. You simply choose your favourite dance tracks (they’re all on there) and the automated DJ mixes them for you, at the click of a button.
In common with all the other music download sites out there, you simply pay for downloading each track you choose. The bonus at Mixalbum.com is that you also get your tracks professionally mixed together so each track seamlessly blends into the next. What attracted Deborah to this investment
Ian’s training as a patent lawyer gave him a discipline, he was logical, held his ground and didn’t fall to pieces when the technology failed him momentarily. I saw that he had identified a niche in the market and felt he was a ‘doer’. That combination was, for me, spot on.
What’s happened since they appeared in the Den?
Since appearing in the Den Mixalbum.com has changed immeasurably. From the outset the website had to be developed, a brand created and marketing undertaken. With Deborah and Theo onboard doors opened and agreements were reached with the major record companies including Sony, Emi and Warner. This was crucial as it gave Mixalbum access to the tracks it needed in order to exist.
Deborah and Theo’s investment also allowed Ian to employ a full time programmer, Dr Tom. This was critical as it allowed Mixalbum to develop it’s technology and provide the technical specs the major record labels needed in order to sell their tracks. Mixalbum.com is now a fully functioning website with a large proportion of very happy and repeat customers.

Things are going incredibly well at the moment and we’re branching out. Basically, a record company specialising in music for aerobics instructors saw the show and got in touch. We’ve now signed a deal to start a new version of the service with a modified system that provides mixes which are suitable for fitness professionals.
Fit32.com, the new UK fitness site using the Mix Album technology, allows presenters and aerobics
instructors to create mixes for their fitness classes. In America
the US site clickmix.com is also proving a big hit, with US
celebrity fitness instructor Jackie Warner promoting the service and filming the
launch party for her reality TV show 'Workout', on Bravo.
