Buggyboot
The practical solution for carrying shopping with a buggy
Business description
Buggyboot is a nifty wheeled bag which is designed to be easily attached to the backs of lightweight buggies and pushchairs. Once attached the wheeled bag increases stability to help reduce the risk of tipping, provides easy access to a generous sized shopping bag and acts as a platform for store baskets to enable hands-free shopping.
There are two products to choose from; the Buggyboot and the Buggyboot Plus. The original Buggyboot offers a simple wheeled bag option whereas the Buggyboot Plus also allows you to easily remove the shopping bag, leaving a handy 'stand on board' for a second child.
Stylish and unique, yet highly practical Buggyboot is the must have shopping
accessory for busy mothers and fathers who need to keep their hands and
arms free of bags and baskets.

Deborah’s reasons for investing
Carolyn and Charlotte both presented extremely well and had clearly already achieved a huge amount before entering the Den. They had designed, developed and produced a product which they could demonstrate demand for, with orders already secured and letters of intent for substantial quantities. Their market intelligence was good, not just in terms of the size of the market but also in relation to the competition. They knew how many competing products were sold through which retailers and were able to explain why their product was in a strong position to compete in terms of functionality, design and price. Good market knowledge, a fully developed product AND orders...to be honest I was surprised that mine was the only offer!
What’s happened since they appeared in the Den?
Since appearing on Dragons' Den Charlotte and Carolyn have been focusing on finalising the
design to ensure the Buggyboot complies with the necessary European
safety standard EN1888 clause 17 rolling road test. This test is due to be
completed by the end of August. In addition to this preparations are underway for the Kind und Jungend Trade Fair which takes place in
September in Cologne, Germany.
Latest update from Charlotte & Carolyn
Our attendance at several international trade fairs with prototypes of the product, and more recently manufactured samples, has led to significant interest in the product from distributors worldwide. Our gold medals from the British Invention Show and our special recognition award from the Global Women Inventors and Innovators Network have also helped to generate interest. We have a partner in the Far East who is an experienced manufacturer in the nursery trade and are looking forward to a busy and successful few years!
