Buggyboot
The practical solution for carrying shopping with a buggy
Business description
Buggyboot is a nifty wheeled bag which is designed to be easily attached to the backs of lightweight buggies and pushchairs. Once attached the wheeled bag increases stability to help reduce the risk of tipping, provides easy access to a generous sized shopping bag and acts as a platform for store baskets to enable hands-free shopping.
Stylish and unique yet highly practical, Buggyboot® is the must have shopping accessory for busy mothers and fathers who need to keep their hands and arms free of bags and baskets. The sturdy, shower-proof, wheeled bag gives much needed additional storage on lightweight buggies. Attaching to the back of a push chair, it also acts as a secure platform on which to rest a store basket, thereby enabling hands-free, stress-free shopping. The ‘Buggyboot® Plus’ also includes a child’s stand-on step for when the bag is not in use.

Deborah’s reasons for investing
Carolyn and Charlotte both presented extremely well and had clearly already achieved a huge amount before entering the Den. They had designed, developed and produced a product which they could demonstrate demand for, with orders already secured and letters of intent for substantial quantities. Their market intelligence was good, not just in terms of the size of the market but also in relation to the competition. They knew how many competing products were sold through which retailers and were able to explain why their product was in a strong position to compete in terms of functionality, design and price. Good market knowledge, a fully developed product AND orders...to be honest I was surprised that mine was the only offer!
What’s happened since they appeared in the Den?
Since appearing on Dragons’ Den, Charlotte and Carolyn have focussed on
finalising the designs of the Buggyboot products ready for mass
production, whilst also ensuring the products successfully completed the
necessary safety tests. Strong levels of orders mean that the Buggyboot
plus is now on sale in Spain, Germany, Singapore, Benelux, Korea and
the UK, with negotiations underway in Russia and Italy.
Latest update from Charlotte & Carolyn
Things are really starting to accelerate - Buggyboot is now available to buy on the high street, in catalogues and online in the UK following an exclusive retail deal with Mothercare. We have had a really busy year since the launch of the buggyboot plus and buggyboot board and are excited to be revisiting the Kind und Jugend Trade Show in Cologne Germany in September to continue to develop international opportunities.
