Deborah acquires British makers of the world's finest cloth

Deborah has announced the acquisition of historic West Country textile mill, Fox Brothers Ltd. Established in 1772 in Wellington Somerset,Fox Brothers manufacture and supply the world’s finest woollen cloth to Savile Row tailors, fashion houses and designers around the world.

Knowing of Fox for a number of years, she lives close to the Somerset Mill and her husband went to school with two members of the Fox family. Deborah initially invested in the company in June 2009, acquiring the business in its entirety in November 2009 with fellow shareholder Douglas Cordeaux. Design director and textiles expert Cordeaux will work alongside the existing team at the mill, while helping Deborah devise company strategy and the growth path for the business.

Describing Fox Brothers as ‘an absolute gem’, Deborah said: “It’s an honour to be involved with an English company whose heritage dates back nearly two hundred and fifty years. Fox flannel, entirely ‘Made in England’, has survived the demise of the weaving industry in the South West of England simply because it’s cloth is the best. We want to protect that treasured heritage while securing the future of the Mill and its team of skilled employees. We want to ensure Fox continues to produce the world’s finest woollen cloth for discerning clients here in the UK and further a field in key markets like Japan and the USA.”
